When it comes to creating exceptional private members' clubs, the design process extends far beyond beautiful interiors or curated amenities.

Our team is currently immersed in the design of 67 Pall Mall Bordeaux, a project that marks a particularly significant chapter in the Club’s ongoing worldwide expansion. With established locations in London, Singapore, and Verbier - and Bordeaux set to join them soon - the Club continues to grow its global presence.

This iconic city, renowned for its rich viticultural heritage, timeless traditions, and striking architecture, provides the ideal setting for the Club’s arrival in the very heartland of wine culture. This project involves the renovation of a beautiful, grand historic building in the heart of the city. With its classical proportions, traditional stone façade, and dramatic volumes, the building is certainly providing us with a powerful and inspiring canvas.

As interior designers, our goal is to create a deeply personal and exclusive environment that fosters connection and belonging. Unlike hotels or restaurants that cater to fleeting visits, a members’ club must become a true home away from home, designed with intention around the identity, rituals, and values of its unique community.

The member experience begins the moment someone decides to visit the club. How they approach the building, how discreetly they can arrive, and the kind of welcome they receive, all play a pivotal role in shaping their perception. Privacy is also a significant consideration. For some members, being seen is part of the allure; for others, discretion is non-negotiable.

As such, the design of 67 Pall Mall Bordeaux will unfold across five levels, each with a distinct personality.

On the ground floor, the public restaurant captures the spirit of the city's famed hidden wine cellars. Stepping inside, guests will be greeted by a towering 8-meter wine tower. While this dominant structure will take centre stage, it will be surrounded by intimate booths, oak timber wall panelling, and a warm, amber glow, creating a cocoon-like intimacy reminiscent of underground cave à vins.

Above on the first floor, the private members' area will transport members into a celestial realm. This space will celebrate the building’s architectural grandeur with its soaring cupola and ethereal light. A palette of soft sky blues and luminous accents evokes the serenity of clouds, offering members a sense of quiet luxury. Despite the volume of the space, careful attention has been paid to creating a sense of privacy and comfort.

At the heart of 67 Pall Mall Bordeaux's interior scheme lies a commitment to quality and authenticity. Every material has been chosen not only for its immediate beauty but for its ability to age gracefully, much like a fine wine.  Locally sourced natural materials dominate: rich oak, buttery leathers, local stone, and hand-applied plaster create a tactile narrative grounded in the local terroir.

These elements are not simply decorative, they are a tribute to craftsmanship and local context. Wherever possible, we work with local artisans.

One standout collaboration includes a Bordeaux-based family-run plasterwork studio, whose historical mould libraries have enabled the faithful restoration of architectural features long lost to time.

Subtle details are just as important to create 67 Pall Mall’s signature ambience: the layering of textures, the softness of lighting, and the obsessive focus on comfort. These design choices foster a familiar intimacy that the club’s members enjoy in all of its locations.

Designing private members’ clubs involves careful consideration of the member journey. Through a careful blend of tradition, innovation, and respect for local identity, the club will feel innately Bordeaux, while proudly carrying the soul of 67 Pall Mall.

The design of 67 Pall Mall Bordeaux is currently in progress, and is due to open in early 2026.
